Scope 2 Emissions Strategy

Decarbonising our operations through smarter energy use

Industrial Equipment

As part of our commitment to a zero and low-carbon future, we’re starting with how we use our electricity across our depot networks.

Our scope 2 emissions, those associated with purchased electricity, including power for our growing electric vehicle (EV) fleet, continue to be a key focus of our sustainability strategy. We have set a clear ambition: scope 2 net zero by 2050.

Lighting and efficiency upgrades

We’re transforming our sites with smarter, low and zero emission energy solutions. Already, 80% of our locations have been upgraded with LED lighting, drastically reducing electricity demand and improving energy efficiency across the board. But we’re not stopping there. Our commitment to a sustainable future includes:

  • Automated roller shutter doors to minimise heat loss
  • Improved insulation for energy retention
  • Boiler upgrades and heating systems improvements
  • Automatic meter readers and gas loggers to track and optimise energy use

Through low and zero emission energy sourcing, building upgrades and advanced data systems, we will deliver on our commitments to reduce our operational carbon and set the standard for sustainable hire.
