Floor Sanders FAQs

Floor sanders are used to strip back old finishes, smooth uneven boards and prepare wooden floors for sealing or coating.

They’re often used during refurbishment work, whether that’s restoring a worn floor or prepping a new one before the final finish goes down.

Different types of floor sanders suit different stages of the job. Belt sanders are often used for heavier material removal and levelling, while orbital floor sanders are better for finer sanding and finishing passes.

To deal with edges and corners that larger machines can’t reach, floor edging sanders allow you to work right up to skirting boards and along walls, helping keep the finish consistent across the whole room.

By combining floor sanders with edging sanders, it’s possible to achieve an even, clean surface across the entire floor, ready for whatever comes next.
