Rail Pullers FAQs

Rail pullers help teams move rail into the right position when accuracy and control matter. They’re used to apply pulling force to rail sections, often as part of stressing, jointing, repair or renewal work where the rail needs to be brought together, aligned or prepared for the next stage of the job.

On rail projects, the challenge isn’t just that the material is heavy. It’s that it often needs to move in a controlled way, over a short distance, without damaging the rail or throwing the rest of the work out of line. A hydraulic puller gives teams a safer and more measured way to manage that movement than relying on manual effort alone.

They’re commonly used during rail stressing, welded rail installation, rail replacement and track maintenance. Depending on the task, rail pullers may be used alongside tensors, clamps, stressing pumps, hydraulic power packs and other track handling equipment.
