Covermeters FAQs

Covermeters are handy tools for checking how much concrete sits above reinforcing steel - known as the “cover.” They’re used in everything from structural surveys and quality checks to refurbishment projects and safety inspections. You can also use them to find the location, layout and even the size of rebar without breaking into the structure.

You just scan the surface, and the covermeter gives you a live reading of depth, plus info on bar size and spacing. It’s a non-destructive, reliable way to make sure things have been built as planned - or to work out where it’s safe to drill, cut or core.

We offer a range of covermeters from trusted names like Elcometer and Kolectric. Some models are simple, portable and great for quick checks. Others come with digital displays, heat maps or data logging features if you need detailed reports.

These tools work on slabs, columns, beams and walls - whether you're working overhead or at floor level. And if you're not sure which model you need, our team is right here to help point you in the right direction.
