Magnetic drills, also known as mag drills, are made for drilling holes in steal and other suitable ferrous metalwork.

A magnetic base holds the drill against the workpiece while drilling, making them a useful choice for structural steelwork, fabrication, engineering and installation jobs.

We offer 110V and cordless magnetic drills for hire, with drilling capacities from around 25mm to 75mm, as well as low-profile models for areas with limited headroom.

When choosing a mag drill, check the hole diameter you need, the thickness and type of metal you're working with, and the space around the drilling point.

Low profile-machines are particularly useful where beams, frames or other obstructions leave little room for a full-height drill.
