CCTV Tower FAQs

CCTV towers are used to provide temporary site security where a fixed camera system either isn’t available, isn’t practical, or wouldn’t give enough flexibility. They’re a good fit for construction sites, rail projects, compounds, infrastructure works and remote locations where the layout can change as the job moves on.

The main advantage is that they can be positioned where coverage is needed most. That might be at a site entrance, around stored plant and materials, near welfare areas, along a boundary, or overlooking a work zone that needs out-of-hours monitoring. Because they’re visible on site, they also act as a deterrent as well as a monitoring tool.

This category can include solar CCTV towers, static wired security towers, standalone solar CCTV units, timelapse cameras and CCTV-based perimeter detection systems. Solar and standalone options can be useful where mains power or fixed internet isn’t easy to access, while wired units may suit more established site setups where a fixed power supply is available.

CCTV towers are often used as part of a wider site security setup alongside plant immobilisers, access control, temporary lighting, fencing and alarms. For short-term works, long-running projects or sites that need coverage outside normal working hours, they give teams a practical way to keep watch over key areas without installing a permanent system.
