Telescopic Boom Lifts

Telescopic (straight) booms extend in a direct line, giving you maximum height and reach when there’s a clear path to the work area. Articulated booms have jointed arms that bend and reach around obstacles, so they’re more flexible but usually a little shorter. We recommend telescopic boom lifts when you need maximum reach and height in open areas, and articulated boom lifts when you need to navigate around structures or reach up and over obstacles

They’re mainly designed for outdoor use, but some models can operate indoors if there’s enough space and ventilation. Most run on diesel, so emissions can limit indoor use. For enclosed environments, we usually recommend electric articulated booms or vertical mast lifts, or hybrid options with proper ventilation controls.

Depending on the model, outreach ranges from 11m to over 24m so you can work safely away from the structure. Larger units like the JLG 1350SJP reach more than 24m horizontally, making them ideal for access points that are both high and distant.

Our machines include platform load sensing, tilt sensors, emergency lowering controls and non-slip platforms with guardrails. Many also feature envelope control, which automatically adjusts the working range based on load and boom position. Every unit is LOLER inspected, fully maintained and supplied with familiarisation training.

Yes. Operators must be trained and certified under PUWER and LOLER regulations. Most sites require an IPAF PAL Card (3b category). As an IPAF-accredited training provider, we offer one-day courses covering theory and practical operation, valid for five years.
