CPCS A16 Industrial Forklift - Experienced

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

• Naming and explaining the purpose of principle components, the basic construction, controls, and terminology.
• Conforming with manufacturer's requirements per the operator's handbook, other information sources, and relevant regulations and legislation.
• Undertaking all pre-use plant checks.
• Explaining the need and function of appropriate documentation.
• Configuring and ready for travel.
• Travelling to and manoeuvring in confined spaces (with and without loads).
• Configuring and setting for lifting and transferring duties.
• Explaining actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services.
• Lifting and removing various loads using the full working height of the forklift.
• Transferring and placing loads accurately at given locations.
• Placing and removing loads from a vehicle.
• Maintaining safe working situations.
• Maintaining safe and tidy working areas.
• Carrying out shutdown and securing procedures.

All delegates must have successfully passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test, often referred to as the touch screen test, within the past two years.

This course is suitable for operators who have 2+ years of experience.

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Successful delegates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).

Companies that are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
