City & Guilds Level 2 Award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations: Category 1 (2079-11)

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests. 

Agenda:  

• Basic systems, principles and units and how they relate to the theory and thermodynamics of vapour compression cycles and refrigerants 
• Causes and effects of global warming and ozone depletion 
• Identification of air conditioning and heat pump components, functions and leakage risk 
• Hazards and safe working practices 
• Construction and examination of pipework 
• Recovery of refrigerant and oil and prepare for disposal 
• Pressure testing, evacuation and record completion 
• Refrigerant charging, leak checking and record keeping 
• Fabrication and fitting of mechanical and brazed joints 
• Assessments 

This five-day course is suited to delegates who are working or looking to work as a refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump system engineer and have some relevant knowledge and skills. You need this qualification as a licence to practise with fluorinated gases and ozone-depleting substances. 

Following successful completion of the course, delegates' results will be audited by a City & Guilds quality assurance process. On completion, a Level 2 award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations - Category I - City & Guilds 2079-11 certificate will be issued (Please note the quality assurance process may take up to 12 weeks).
