This is a stand-alone course that covers the use of a pre-selected evacuation kit.

This course is designed for workers who may need to evacuate from a platform or structure in an emergency.

Upon completion of training you will have gained the knowledge and skills to safely set up evacuation equipment using designated anchor points. And execute a controlled evacuation to ground level from 4m and your normal working height (or maximum operating height of the equipment).

This course is suitable for workers using VNA trucks, Powered Access Platforms and Window Cleaning Cradles.

Course Syllabus:

Theory

Discuss the requirements for emergency planning in relation to work at height and the options available on this site.

Practical

Carry out pre-use checks of equipment
Fit and adjust a specified evacuation harness
Set up evacuation equipment using designated anchor points
Perform a control evacuation to ground level from 4m
Perform a control evacuation to ground level from the normal working height or maximum operating height of the equipment

Delegates must be 18 years and over, and all delegates must be able to certify they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them from working at height prior to commencement of training.

Delegates should be competent to operate any plant or platform used for the training.

During training, delegates will be expected to carry out activities at height. This will provide an insight into the delegates’ ability to operate in such conditions. This is only an indication of their capability, as it is not possible to recreate exact working environments.

The actual height and exposure will be set out on the certification, but this is only to show what was included in the training. The height shown on the certification is not intended to limit the height at which the delegate can operate.
