Lifting Equipment Inspection & Record Keeping

The course will cover:

• The importance of traceability for all lifting equipment.
• Completing inspection records.
• Inspecting equipment and recording the findings.
• Monitoring the continual degradation of equipment items and assessing the point at which to withdraw items from service.
• Processes for quarantining equipment.
• Processes for investigating the effects of contaminants and the details required for returning to service.
• The requirements and production of an inspection report.
• Standards and ratings of lifting equipment.
• Maintenance of lifting accessories.
• Conducting formal examinations under LOLER on common lifting accessories (slings, shackles, chain slings, wire rope slings, beam clamps, eyebolts, and hooks).
• Common faults with equipment.
• Follow-up procedures after an examination.

This course is aimed at delegates who have successfully completed both Safe Lifting Theory and Practical modules (covered in the Practical Lifting and Slinging Beneath the Hook 1-day training course).

Delegates must be over 18 and have good spoken and written English skills.

Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a Spanset digital certificate of attendance valid for 3 years.
