This SQA Level 2 Award for Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces assesses delegates against a national standard where they can demonstrate practical skills and provide knowledge evidence that they are capable of working safely in a low-risk confined space environment.

This course is for operatives/personnel seeking entry into, or already working in a job which may involve entering a confined space.

Delegates must also be a minimum age of 18, medically fit to wear a breathing apparatus and able to enter a confined space. Delegates should generally not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/confined spaces, vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. Due to the nature of confined space work and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only the provision for the practical and knowledge assessments to be undertaken in English.
