This SQA Level 2 Award for Working in and Control Entry Arrangements for Medium Risk Confined Spaces is aimed at giving delegates the practical skills and knowledge to work safely in and control entry arrangements in a medium risk confined space environment, where a specified hazard may be present.

This course is for operatives/personnel seeking entry into, or already working in a job which may involve entering a confined space.

Delegates must also be a minimum age of 18, medically fit to wear a breathing apparatus and able to enter a confined space. Delegates should generally not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/confined spaces, vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. Due to the nature of confined space work and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only the provision for the practical and knowledge assessments to be undertaken in English.
