Sunbelt Rentals at the Showman’s Show

On the 19th and 20th October, teammates from Sunbelt Rentals attended the Showman's Show at Newbury Showground. Established way back in 1984, the event comprises a sizeable exhibition featuring products and services for the outdoor, festival, and special event world.
We hosted a stand in the main exhibition hall, which provided the perfect opportunity to check-in with our existing customers, while getting the chance to speak with new ones too.
We were able to showcase a full range of market-leading, environmentally friendly temporary infrastructure solutions that will support our customer to bring their events to life. Which dovetails with ‘Our Planet’, our ESG action plan. Our Planet is helping us to drive down the UK’s carbon emissions, while supporting our customers to achieve their own sustainability goals.
This year, and in light of our desire to be more sustainable, we decided to reduce the amount of merchandise we gave away. We had a charity box collection, and we asked visitors to the show to add a token to the box of the charity they wished to support.
Over the two days of the event, visitors to our stand raised the following amounts for charity:
- £134 to Greggs
- £153 to Tutormate
- £213 Walking with the Wounded
As well as our presence at the event, we also entered the Green Supplier and Innovation Award, which recognises the sustainable solutions and positive changes exhibitors are making to their businesses, products and services.
Making it to the final shortlist, our team presented to a panel of judges and the audience, about how we are truly leading the way when it comes to delivering outstanding and innovative green practice.
The Judge's decision was finalised, and following an intense few minutes, was announced that Sunbelt Rentals had won the prestigious Green Supplier and Innovation award!

But that’s not all, as well as hosting a stand at the Showman’s Show and presenting for the award, Geoff Fawkes, Business Development Director for New Markets, took part in the Vision 2025 panel discussion and talked us through how it went:
“My fellow panel members were very engaging and interested in our greener solutions to support the event industry, as well as how we are using BIM to design more sustainable event solutions. We agreed as a panel to maintain our dialogue between each other and our businesses to help support the events industry in the future.
“If we attend the event again in the future, I’d love to be able to demonstrate our BIM offering next year, potentially inside one of our structure supplier partners.”
It’s fair to say that the event was a success, from talking to customers about how we can support their events, to Vision 2025 panel discussions and winning the Green Supplier and Innovation award!
