This City & Guild’s 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course was designed to meet new IET Wiring Regulations. It aims to ensure that delegates are fully aware of current standards and are working in compliance with the latest edition of wiring regulations.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

  • Scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671:2018
  • Electrical definitions
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Requirements of protection for electrical safety
  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Electrical inspection and testing
  • Special installations or locations
  • Use of the information within BS7671:2018 appendices
  • Energy efficiency
  • Prosumer low-voltage electrical installations
  • Protection against fire - installation of arc fault detection devices (AFDDs)
  • Protection against transient over-voltage
  • Assessment includes a two-hour online multiple-choice exam

This course is aimed at delegates involved with the design, installation or testing of electrical installations in accordance with the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. Having formal qualifications is not a prerequisite for this course.

All delegates attending this course will need a copy of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition (BS7671:2018) Amendment 2 2022 brown book. Copies can be purchased if required.

Successful delegates will receive a City & Guilds certificate.
