This course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge to operate a 360 Tracked Excavator above 10 tonnes correctly. It covers the theoretical and practical elements and is suitable for delegates with limited to no formal instruction or training.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

  • Operating the excavator 360° tracked safely and productively.
  • Fitting and operating ancillary equipment.
  • Siting the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out minor adjustments and routine servicing procedures.
  • Understanding the capabilities, purposes, and limitations of each machine.
  • Following all necessary safety precautions.
  • Interpreting the information provided by level pegs and profiles.
  • Being aware of the necessary routine adjustments and service procedures and executing them.
  • Working to levels.

All delegates must have successfully passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test, often referred to as the touch screen test, within the past two years.

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Successful delegates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).

Companies that are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
