CPCS A62 Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor - Experienced
This course will enable you to undertake the duties of a crane supervisor as defined by the appointed person and is designed for those who already have 2+ years of experience. You will learn how to comply with legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and industrial requirements.
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.
These will include:
- Legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice relating to lifting duties.
- Safe systems of work, including method statements.
- Taking personal responsibility.
- Different types of cranes and associated terminology.
- Understanding crane documentation.
- Understanding crane stability, duty charts and safety devices.
- Crane appreciation.
- Observing British Standard 7121.
- Understanding the role of crane supervisor.
- Understanding the role of the appointed person.
- Preparing an area with exclusion zones.
All delegates must have successfully passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test, often referred to as the touch screen test, within the past two years.
You should have sufficient crane experience to meet the requirements specified in British standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes and have 2+ years of experience.
Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
Successful delegates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).
Companies that are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
