Radio Frequency Awareness
This theory-based course is for those who work on or near buildings, structures, masts or towers where radio frequency is present. It aims to teach:
- Awareness of the hazards associated with working near radio frequency and how to recognise restricted areas.
- How to reduce/prevent exposure to sources of electromagnetic radiation and the potential effects on the human body.
- An overview of monitoring/measuring equipment.
This course is approved by National Grid and Wireless and forms part of the requirements to access their sites.
Course Syllabus:
- How electromagnetic fields are generated.
- The potential effects of overexposure on the human body.
- Sources of electromagnetic fields.
- The requirements of the EMF directive.
- Overview of monitors and dosimeter.
- The national register of RF workers
This course is for delegates who will be working near buildings, structures, or masts and, as such, require a solid understanding of RF Radiation Issues.
On successful completion, delegates will receive a Spanset certificate valid for three years.
