CITB Health & Safety Awareness (HSA)

See Course Dates

This one-day Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is designed to aid the understanding of potential hazards that construction workers may face on site.

It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies the delegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

The course is an ideal foundation for those seeking an industry site card. It is also an alternative route to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment for the CSCS Laborer Card.

The course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all on-site operatives.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials.

Agenda:

  • The need to prevent accidents
  • Health and safety law
  • How a delegates's role fits into the control and management of the site
  • Risk assessments and method statements
  • Performing safely and asking for advice
  • How to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
  • End of course test

Delegates must be competent in English at the operative level. The course content is suited to all ability levels.

Following the successful completion of the course, delegates will be awarded a digital CITB Site Safety Plus certificate valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, delegates will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
