This one-day CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course Refresher, alongside the two-day training course, is designed to help delegates responsible for managing all forms of temporary works on site by improving their knowledge of the role and the temporary works environment as a whole.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials.

Agenda:

  • The adoption of the management process outlined in BS 5975:2019 introduces the temporary works coordinator (TWC) as a key figure. This course explains the role and its overall management context.
  • Temporary works on both smaller and larger sites can be high-risk activities. Therefore, understanding the essentials of good risk and safety management, as outlined in BS 5975:2019, is relevant for projects of all sizes.
  • Emphasis throughout to the importance of communication, coordination, cooperation, competency (the '4Cs'), risk management, safety, and business relations.
  • Understanding the need for and duties of a temporary works coordinator.
  • Understanding the role of others.
  • Holding a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS 5975 with respect to this role.

This course is only for delegates who have completed TWCTC or the TWCTC refresher in the last five years and have certification to prove so.

Successful delegates will receive a CITB certification, valid for 5 years. Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
