This course is for people responsible for the movement of plants and vehicles on construction sites and is designed for delegates with 2+ years of experience. You will learn how to prepare for vehicle movement and guidance, communication, plant hazards and ground conditions, work area layout and positioning.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

  • Roles and responsibilities.
  • Regulatory requirements.
  • Plant types, limitations, hazards, and stability factors.
  • Work management traffic plan.
  • Proximity hazards.
  • Safe positioning.
  • Communication methods.
  • Preparing for movement.
  • Guidance of plant and vehicle movement.

All delegates must have successfully passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test, often referred to as the touch screen test, within the past two years.

This course is suitable for operators who have 2+ years of experience.

Delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Successful delegates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).

Companies that are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
