This Butt Fusion Welding course is designed to guide operators and supervisors to deliver the best and safe practices for butt fusion welding techniques. The course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to join pipework from 90mm up to 1400mm trunk mains with butt fusion techniques in a ductile manner and to understand what creates brittle joints and service failures. 

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests.

These will include:

• Identify the most relevant equipment, pipes, and fittings
• Complete pre-checks on pipe and equipment
• Provide an understanding and demonstrate safe practice
• Understand and display industry best practices/techniques for butt fusion welding
• Inspect joint and beads for quality assurance
• Written, oral and practical assessment

This course is designed for operators and supervisors who wish to gain knowledge, experience and a formal qualification in butt fusion welding techniques. Delegates possessing little to no experience will likely require a 2-day course. Experienced welders seeking certification or a refresher qualification may complete the course in 1 day.

Delegates must have basic spoken and written English skills.

Successful delegates will receive a certificate and an EUSR ID card.
