IDS Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) - DS2000

This Ground Penetrating Radar course is designed to examine the principles and limitations of the technology and offers delegates a chance to gain hands-on experience with the kit. The course is led by experts with many years of experience in using GPR.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests. 

Agenda: 

  • An introduction to GPR, including theory, an explanation of GPR signals and the purpose of a radargram.  
  • Hyperbola, layer reflectors, GPR frequency and the effect on depth penetration and resolution. 
  • Conducting a GPR survey, controls, and features. 
  • Wheel calibration and GPS integration. 
  • Setting up a GRID. 
  • Data collection and use of applicable software. 
  • Exporting data and reports

This course is for delegates who wish to become confident Ground Penetrating Radar system users and successfully carry out their own surveys. 

Delegates must have basic spoken and written English skills.

Successful delegates will receive a Sunbelt Certificate of Attendance valid for 3 years.
