Pipeline Commissioning Technician Training

This practical-based training course includes assessments that guide delegates through industry best practices for the commissioning of pipelines and pipework either on-site or at a dedicated specialist training centre.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical assignments. Delegates will be assessed through a mixture of theory and practical tests. 

These will include: 

  • Select the most relevant tools and equipment for specific pressure testing tasks
  • Logger(s) and fittings
  • Provide an understanding of pressure testing techniques, materials, and safe practices
  • Carry out a hydrostatic pressure test and interpret the test, identifying correct test pressures
  • Explain the pass/fail criteria and recognise appropriate or inappropriate pressure within a specific environment
  • Identify most relevant equipment, pipe and fittings
  • Complete pre-checks on pipe and equipment
  • Provide an understanding and demonstrate safe practice
  • Understand and display industry best practices/techniques for chlorination procedures
  • Work out levels of chlorus for individual jobs
  • Check chlorine residuals
  • Site Survey
  • Swabbing and swab tracking
  • Water sampling

This course is suited to operators, managers and supervisors who are required to oversee or carry out the commissioning of pipelines and pipework. 

Successful delegates will receive an EUSR photo ID card.
